As Dhul Hijjah draws near, there’s no better time to help your children connect with one of Islam’s most sacred seasons — not just by telling them about it, but by letting them live it through hands-on learning and meaningful storytelling.
At Made By Me in Redmond, WA, we’re thrilled to invite your little ones to Journey to the Kaaba — a 2-week Hajj and Dhul Hijjah workshop designed for children ages 4 to 10.
What Is Journey to the Kaaba?
Journey to the Kaaba is a faith-centered, creative workshop that brings the story of Hajj to life for young Muslim children. Across two Sunday sessions — May 17 and May 24, 2026 — children will explore the history of the Kaaba, the story of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), and the deep spiritual meaning of Hajj and Eid Al-Adha through interactive activities, storytelling, and hands-on crafts.
Each session runs from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM (3 hours), giving children plenty of time to learn, create, and truly absorb each topic.
This workshop is held at the Made By Me Studio — our warm, welcoming creative learning space located at 2687 151st Pl NE, Suite 3C, Redmond, WA 98052, just 7 minutes from MAPS (Muslim Association of Puget Sound) and 2 minutes walking from Overlake Village Light Rail Station.
What Will My Child Learn?
🌙 Week 1 — The Story of Prophet Ibrahim & Building the Kaaba (May 17)
In the first session, children will journey back in time to the very origins of the Kaaba. Through guided storytelling and creative activities, they’ll discover:
- The remarkable life of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) and his unshakeable faith in Allah
- The story of Hajar and the miracle of Zamzam — a well that still flows today
- How the Kaaba was built and why it holds such a sacred place in the hearts of over a billion Muslims
- The meaning and significance of Hajj as one of the five pillars of Islam
- Powerful values like trust, patience, and obedience to Allah
🕋 Week 2 — Understanding Hajj & Eid Al-Adha (May 24)
In the second session, children will step into the shoes of a pilgrim and explore the rituals and spirit of Hajj. They’ll learn about:
- The steps and meaning of Hajj explained in a child-friendly, engaging way
- The significance of the Day of Arafah — one of the most blessed days of the year
- The story of the sacrifice and the origins of Eid Al-Adha
- How to make the most of the 10 blessed days of Dhul Hijjah
- Islamic values of gratitude, generosity, and good character
✨ Every session includes themed crafts and hands-on activities that children take home — a beautiful reminder of everything they learned.
Why This Workshop Matters
For Muslim families raising children in the United States, it can be challenging to find learning environments that honor your faith while also making education engaging and fun for young kids.
That’s exactly what we’ve built at Made By Me.
We believe that when children understand the why behind their faith, they carry it with them for life. A child who builds a model of the Kaaba with their own hands, who hears the story of Hajar running between Safa and Marwa and feels the emotion of that moment — that child isn’t just memorizing facts. They’re building a relationship with Islam that will grow with them.
This workshop is designed to be:
- Interactive, not passive — children learn by doing, creating, and discussing
- Age-appropriate — thoughtfully adapted for ages 4 to 10
- Faith-affirming — Islamic values are woven naturally into every activity
- Joyful — because children learn best when they’re happy and engaged
